Louisville-based Agency Recognized for TV Commercials for KORBEL California Champagne

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – PriceWeber is the recipient of two Telly Awards, the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and web commercials, videos and films. The winners of the 37th annual Telly Awards were announced earlier this week, and represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.

PriceWeber brought home a Silver Telly – the highest honor possible – for its Marathon Runner TV spot, and a Bronze Telly for its Mountain Climber TV spot, both of which were produced for KORBEL® California Champagne. Vice president and account director Robert Trinkle, and executive creative directors Will Cauthen and Jeff Van Zandt oversaw creative direction and production of both spots, which push the envelope for advertising creative within the champagne and sparkling-wine category. PriceWeber is the only Louisville agency to win a Silver Telly in the Commercial category.

“It was a pleasure to work with Brown-Forman to produce both of these TV spots for KORBEL California Champagne,” said Trinkle. “The brand allowed us to develop creative that broke out of category tradition while remaining true to the core brand strategy. The result was two very distinctive TV spots which reveal that life provides endless moments – big and small – worth celebrating.”

This year’s Telly Awards received nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries. A prestigious judging panel of more than 600 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of the Silver Telly Council, judged the competition and upheld the historical standard of excellence that the Telly Awards represent. Fewer than 10 percent of entries are chosen as winners of a Silver Telly.

During a 48-year relationship, PriceWeber has represented many of Brown-Forman’s iconic brands, including KORBEL California Champagne, Old Forester, Early Times, Finlandia, Southern Comfort and Bolla, Fetzer, Little Black Dress and Five Rivers wines. When Mountain Climber aired last October, it was recognized as an Advertising Age/iSpot Hot Spots, which placed the ad alongside other national brands such as Geico, Apple, PlayStation, T-Mobile and Victoria’s Secret.

Other Louisville-area winners of Silver Telly Awards in the Film/Video category include John Flower Productions, Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Vimarc. A complete list of Telly Awards winners may be found at www.tellyawards.com.
