For nearly 100 years, Farm Credit has provided sound and dependable lending and financial services to support agriculture and rural America. As part of our Community Engagement Initiative, Farm Credit supported a program called Farm to Food Banks. Coordinated by state food bank associations, the program purchases surplus commodity products and unmarketable fruits and vegetables from local farmers, and then distributes the products to food banks, shelters and other emergency food providers. We documented that process at Courtney Farms in Bagdad, Kentucky. You may recognize some of the volunteers’ faces, as several of us at PriceWeber had the opportunity to participate in this fantastic program.
